Recently we traveled to Florida and met the Wild Brothers! They are 4 brothers that grew up on the mission field in Indonesia, their last name is actually Wild. They documented a lot of their adventures through videos and we happened to stumble upon them about 4 or 5 years ago. The brothers are now older and live in Florida while their parents continue living and serving in Indonesia.

I remember years ago when we first started watching the Wild Brothers our family sat on the couch together and my heart yearned for our family to be able to do what they were doing-serving in a foreign country. We talked about how fun that would be, how hard it would and how crazy of an adventure it would be to be on a foreign mission like the Wild Brothers. The boys were all intrigued by the things they ate, the people they interacted with and the adventures they had. God used those videos and the Wild family to place seeds inside the boys that have grown over time, seeds of desire to have a mission and live on adventure for Christ in a foreign land.

I decided to reach out to the brothers a few months ago and just take a shot in the dark to see if we could meet them, as they had such an imprint on our boys being mission minded and excited about Burundi. They actually wrote back and said absolutely!

We had such an amazing time with them. Our boys and Josh and I bombarded them with questions. They were so encouraging and intentional to our boys. It never ceases to amaze me how you can meet a stranger and feel closer than you feel to some family members, because you have a depth of faith with each other. The lady taking our picture said, “big family!” It is really amazing to be a part of the family of Christ.
