They’re living day to day hoping they have enough to eat for the day. When there isn’t enough food for dinner they sit together and pray, all 48 of them. The featured photo is that room. A lone table with no chairs. Their dining room. I stood in the room they pray in and all I could do was imagine, 48 souls Jesus loves and cares so much for, as they gather close together and pray for their daily bread in ways we can’t understand as Americans.
I wonder which child is drifting to thoughts of their parents. Which child is doubting God would provide? They’re just lowly orphans in the world’s poorest country, who cares?
Well, there’s a dream in our family’s hearts now. We are on a new mission that has already begun. We have traveled to begin telling the story of these precious children, orphans who have no means.
This Easter, we are hoping and praying that God will provide funding for us to send them money for a feast. These kids do not eat meat, because of the cost. Many of them have gone their entire lives never tasting meat. We would like to raise $200 to give to their Easter meal this Sunday! So many of us in the States celebrate around a table with food and loved ones as we remember what Christ did, and we celebrate the joy of Easter. Our hope and prayer is that these 48 children in Burundi would be able to afford a feast. We have a link already set up through World Renewal for the orphanage and World Renewal Burundi. If you feel led to give, please check out this link for giving!
We have more amazing things to update you on as everything with this ministry is beginning, and we want to give you more details. But for now, we are praying and seeing if you would like to partner with us to bless these precious kids this Easter!
