There is no post service like we know in the States in Burundi. Sending something is painfully expensive and even more painfully corrupt. We packed meals last year at Lifeline in Indianapolis. They worked with their partners, and an entire container was sent to Burundi! It took many months, and we did not know when it would arrive. Today we are overjoyed! The container arrived! Lifeline ended up gifting us with an entire pallet totaling 14,256 meals!

We left Burundi with our broken hearts, asking God to do what only He could do. They need food. The children cannot stay awake, alert, and focused in class because they do not have sustenance. The hospital we visited has no means whatsoever for the patients to be fed unless they have a family member or loved one who will bring food or cook for them while they’re in the hospital.

Over 14,000 meals!!!!!!!!!! The orphanage has over 7,560 meals right now in its possession. There are over 2,000 meals being distributed by our partner to vulnerable children. And the remaining 4,500+ are making their way up country to the hospital for patients, many of whom are malnourished.

Here are some things our partners and the orphanage have said thus far: “All glory be to God!” “We thank God!” “I wanted to thank you so much for the help you brought us today. Truly, we are very grateful for everything you’ve done for us.” They know they’re not forgotten! We will not be people who only show up for a nice trip once a year or every so often. We want to go to our Loving Father on their behalf and continue to ask Him to do what only He can do.
